Biography

I have lived in Los Angeles most of my life. I received my art training at UCLA's Department of Fine Arts and art study at Art Center of Design. After having a family I enrolled at Santa Monica College and was awarded the Mentor Program. In 1992 I received the Pearl Guttenplan Award and my first solo exhibit. I have been a Faculty Member at Santa Monica College's Art Department teaching painting and drawing until moving from the area in 2017.

I work en plein air in the Santa Monica Mountains, Malibu and surrounding Southern California areas. I prefer working from life when ever possible. I have painted in Northern California and la Loire and Alsace regions of France.
